My Freshman Year I found My Freshman Year to be a very fascinating story. While I was reading there were four things that really surprised me throughout the story. First when I read the beginning I would have never guessed she would go about things the way she did. What I mean by that is how she applied to the college and waited for an acceptance letter. Second I was surprised how she participated in different activities; summer previews, welcome week, and sporting events. When I was a freshman I didn't even do all of the things she did right away. The third thing that surprised me was how she lived in a dorm. At first when she talked about the dorms I began to wonder what her roommate would think of her but after I read further, I learned that she had a single room. Finally, I found it funny that she couldn't find her way around the campus that she has been working at for several years.
Ethnography Personally, I think Ethnography was not as interesting to me as My Freshman Year. Ethnography didn't really relate to me and didn’t follow a story in my opinion. I think it followed more of a lesson on what ethnography stands for. I kind of just read it to get through the reading unlike My Freshman Year I read it because I thought it was interesting. I think my main problem was when I was reading it I couldn't relate anything to it and I didn't understand much of it.
